STOP BEING AN INDIVIDUAL
STOP BEING AN INDIVIDUAL
Okay, we completely understand you want to be different. We get it, you don't wish to be just another sheep in the herd. Yes, we see how the idea of showing the world you are not just another nim-nom stuck in the matrix, makes your ego throb with excitement...
The question is this, is a society full of individuals really such a good idea?
In the beginning, we moved in tribes, hunted together, shared, discovered, helped and cared for each other.
Later came leaders, directing us, telling us what to do, and how to live. We were a little stupid but quite happy
Then along came the civilised world, class systems, organised religions, money, education, industrialisation, consumerism, housing, trains, air planes, cars, radio, tv, computers, internet, social media, and global communication
We have gained knowledge and the freedom to think and act for ourselves. However, these have made us slightly confused about who we should be. The one thing nobody seems to want is to be normal
If the thought of being normal is horrific, beware this may not be nice to read...
if during the past 15 years, you have been to clubbing, had a tattoo, spent money on designer shoes, watch Saturday night TV, got a gym membership, bought an Apple product, use facebook or twitter. insta or whatsapp
Big drum roll.....
YOU ARE NORMAL. A TYPICAL CROWD FOLLOWER!!
Don't panic, don't be upset. If you are enjoying clubbing, the wonders of social networking and that wonderfully expensive Apple device. If you are proud of your tattoo and feel good in those designer heels, You are merely confirming your involvement in the current world
The pressure to be an individual feels massive, but actually, its minuscule compared to the pressure put upon us to behave like everyone else. The reality is we are being sold the idea of individuality, which involves buying into popular trends or objects...thereby conforming! Its no wonder we're more confused than a carrot in an orange tree!
Individuals act on real feelings without concern of the crowd, with a moral code which includes care and respect for others. Thinking and behaving as your beautiful self is an act of individuality, especially in a world that is screaming - be ruthless and only look out for yourself
So why not re-consider this crazy individuality concept...
Society's magic trick is that it wants us to believe we are individual while ensuring we are conforming!
Misdirecting us, so we don't see how similar we actually are, That in fact, our true nature is to help and care for each other
Deep down, we humans are not selfish or greedy. Each wants to feel valued and appreciated. Yes we'd love to be free from the pressures of this modern world, where we are asked to prove ourselves on a daily basis
The reason we are being manipulated into this pretence of individuality is corporations are aware, the day we begin to understand we are all alike, have similar hopes, dreams, and needs. We may start discussing real issues with care and compassion
Together we may begin demanding real freedoms, challenging their system and worst of all...we may stop buying their products! Wow, that could be the ultimate act of individuality, wouldn't it?
Step away from the mass market.
Stop being an individual. Take your place in the world
