AN UNEVEN PATH

I write because I wish you to have a few parting words from me, think of them now and then at quiet moments...
I trust you know I love you deeply and am sorry in my heart to part with you.
Life is made up of partings, so these feelings must be accepted

It's good to know you are going to do your best to enjoy life. There will be times when you will question why life is so cruel! I encourage you to persevere, be determined to seek what you genuinely wish to do...and give it everything you've got

I have made a lifetime of choices, always choosing the path of the heart...
this is an extremely uneven road, where getting lost is almost compulsory and not necessarily a bad thing

I have encountered sorrow, hate, friendship and love in the most surprising places. I have been wealthy enough to eat at the best tables, and unfortunate enough to go days without food. I have slept in the most comfortable beds and slept in the street. I have been adored and slandered. I have known ecstasy and dealt with pain beyond my imagination.

But, the incredible things I have seen, the joy and feelings I have experienced are worth every second of the sorrow. My mind holds no evil thoughts regards the past, my memory only holds the beauty and richness, which life has been kind enough to have shown me. My heart understands contentment because of the experience of the journey.

There are still choices and dilemmas ahead...I am certainly no expert nor qualified to give any individual advice. However, for what it's worth these are some of the things I have experienced and learned...if just one helps I will be happy for you

Never worry about numbers. Ask people if they need any help.
Remember the good and the bad moments are only here for a limited time.
If you are going to be part of a revolution, begin with yourself.
Money may get you into a lot of places, good manners and kindness will get you everywhere.
Beware of half-truths, you may have the wrong half.
The day you cease being passionate or creative you are committing emotional suicide.

Never take a mean advantage of anyone in any transaction.
Try to do to others, as you would have them do to you, and don't be discouraged if they fail sometimes, It is better that they should fail, then you should fail

Men and women succeed because they are not discouraged by failure. Successful people have far more perseverance than talent. We learn to do things well by doing them often. One of the great secrets of success is to keep going, sometimes taking a few steps backward is necessary, to make  a significant leap forward

A fatal mistake is to imagine that success is a stroke of luck. Fortune sells her wares; she never gives them away; In one way or other, we pay for her favors - so think carefully, or you may regret the cost later

Do not take opposition to heart, enemies can help you develop faster than friends - besides, whoever got anywhere in dead calm? Everything good needs time. Do not work in a hurry - mediocrity is always in a rush; genius is often doing something really well, that anyone can do averagely

Some success can be reached by sheer impudence and because people are easily fooled. But people who get what they are manifestly unfit for, are made to feel what people think of them.

Mediocrity may flourish; however, it is held far lower than a genuine effort. The world is just; it may, it does patronise fakes; but it never puts them on a level with real people

During my travels, I have felt the full spectrum of emotions we humans hold within us. Often our emotions arrive in disguise, so be aware my friend and listen carefully, sometimes your heart only whispers

Above all things, be cheerful in your own mind; nothing good grows from a downbeat attitude

3000monks...are listening carefully
